The Oakley Method of taking count is really simple and easy. That is, once you get the hang of it.
1. Ensure each participant has a number following their name in Zoom.
Your Participants list should look something like this:
Smith, John (2)
Hawn, Goldie (4)
Particle Family (6)
2. Join the meeting on a second device and leave it in the Waiting Room. (This step is optional, but important)

When the Waiting Room is active, the search box will present you with a count at the top. If the Waiting Room isn’t being used, the search box doesn’t present you with a count.
3. Starting with the number 1, use the search box to find all participants with that specified number in their name. Repeat this step with the numbers 1-9, one at a time, until you’ve searched the last number that exists in the names.

4. Multiply the count presented at the top by the number you specified in the search box.
Your math will look something like this:
1 x 26 = 26
2 x 14 = 28
3 x 9 = 27
4 x 4 = 16
5 x 0 = 0
6 x 1 = 6
Stop because the highest number in the participants’ list was (6).
